Today is go-day for the Centauri Publishing Services website! I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time. I decided years ago that I would work towards becoming a freelance editor, but life, specifically pregnancy and raising an infant, stretched out my timeline.
I handed in my notice at my previous job a few months ago and finished up early in August. It took a little longer than expected to get everything up and running as New Zealand went into sudden lockdown due to a community case of delta variant COVID-19 just as I was planning to start working on the website. Without childcare time management became a bit tricky, but finally the website is presentable. As they say, good things take time.
I am now taking queries regarding my non-fiction editing, fiction editing, style sheet, and typesetting services. If you would like to contract any of these services, each has a query form on its info page.
A little more about me, so you can decide if I sound like the kind of person you’d like to work with: My name is Catherine. I have 12 years of experience editing for a research institute. Before that, I gained a Graduate Diploma in Publishing from Whitireia Polytechnic. As well as editing, I also learned how to typeset, market, and project manage books. I particularly enjoyed the typesetting unit. Over the last few years I haven’t had much opportunity to typeset, but I’m keen to get back into it so that I can offer a novel typesetting service. I’m currently updating my typesetting skills to match how the industry has moved on since I was a student.
For now, the main services I’m offering are editing-related, as I am well practiced at this skill.
